Ben Loomes Ben is Chair of the Autism Centre of Excellence. Ben joined the predecessor charity in January 2019, initially as a Trustee of the Autism Research Trust. Ben has c.20 years of experience in investing, fund management, fundraising and corporate finance. Ben is Chief Executive Officer of John Laing Group plc, a FTSE 250 company, which invests responsibly in, and manages, infrastructure projects across international markets including the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America. Ben is also a Non-Executive Director of Ambac Assurance UK Limited, a non-life financial guarantee insurance business with a portfolio of c.£9 billion. Previously, Ben was Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure at InfraRed Capital Partners, where he was responsible for managing a global Infrastructure investment business with over US$9 billion of assets under management. Prior to this, Ben was Managing Partner of 3i Group plc’s Infrastructure business and 3i Group's Director of Strategy. Ben was also a member 3i Group plc’s Executive Committee and its Investment Committees for Infrastructure, Private Equity and Debt Management. Ben began his career at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking division. Ben holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University. Ben completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
