Dr Helena Brunel is the ARC Bioinformatician. Her role consists on analysing genomic and epigenetic data by developing and validating bioinformatics pipelines. Her research interest focuses on statistical methods applied to Biomedical Science and more particularly to better understand the genetics of complex conditions such as autism.

She holds a MS degree in Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona and completed her PhD in Bioinformatics also at the UPC. Her PhD consisted on developing original statistical methodologies for genetic association analyses of complex medical conditions
