The Autism Research Trust are proud to welcome a new trustee to the team: Ben Loomes. Ben is Chair of the Autism Centre of Excellence Fundraising Campaign Committee also and has a wealth of experience in his back pocket.

Extensive experience at the service of ART

Ben studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, and graduated with a Master of Science and went on to developing 20 years of experience in corporate finance, investing and fund management, focusing on the Infrastructure sector.

His most recent role was Managing Partner and Global Head of Infrastructure at Infrared Capital, responsible for managing around $10 billion of assets globally. He was also a founding member of the Global Infrastructure Investor Association.

Ben has previously been a member of the Executive Committee and Head of Strategy at 3i Group, a company on the FTSE 100 index – the 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. Ben was also Managing Partner and Co-head of 3i's Infrastructure business, managing over £2 billion of investments across the utilities, energy, transport, telecommunications and social infrastructure sectors.

Ben’s role at ART: heading a fundraising campaign like no other!

Ben was identified using the Nurole platform, a digital recruitment platform for board and senior executive roles.

He will be heading the Autism Centre of Excellence (ACE) fundraising campaign. The Autism Centre of Excellence will be located in Cambridge and is a collaboration between autistic people and their families, the work of world-class researchers and excellent clinical services.

We are excited to be working with Ben, and we hope that he enjoys his time with us.
