Eight year old Liam was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2017. The following year, in March 2018, his grandfather was also diagnosed with the condition.

They are planning to cycle 140 miles for ART in an ambitious and exciting challenge this June, which will see a climb of 10,500 feet!

The 'Coast to Coast' route will take them from Whitehaven, West Cumbria through the Northern Lake District, Keswick & Penrith, across the Northern Pennines and down into the Durham Dales. They will finish at Roker in Sunderland.

David Thorburn, 61, comments, "Having faced my own struggles in life without a diagnosis or any special help I'm very keen to raise awareness of autism, so that help and guidance can be offered to individuals or families who are affected by the condition."

Please visit Liam and David's sponsorship page here to donate, and to also hear updates on their training. We wish them lots of fun and luck on their adventure!
