Christmas. A time for getting together with your loved ones, a time for some festive fun and a time for giving! Whether you’re a social butterfly or a shopping enthusiast, there are many ways that you can raise money to transform the lives of autistic people this Christmas.

Who doesn't love cake?

Invite a few friends over for a nibble during the Christmas holidays and a natter in exchange for a donation, host a gingerbread house making workshop or go all out with a Bake Off style competition at work!

Whatever your style, check out our fundraising guide for tips and advice.

A visit from Santa

Whether you take part in a local event or plan one yourself, why not ask Santa to come to talk to children and take photos with them? Parents or guardians can choose how much to donate, or if Santa is bringing along some gifts, you could set a price.

Hark! The herald angels sing

Love old traditions and a sense of community? You could organize an evening of Christmas carols at a church or community centre, or go from house to house!

Don't want to unleash your beautiful singing voice to the greater public? Host a karaoke night with your friends at home with plenty of mulled wine and Mariah Carey. A very merry Christmas indeed.

One of the easiest ways to donate to autism research through us is by doing your usual Christmas shopping.

Simply visit and choose Autism Research Trust as your charity to support. 0.5% of the net price will then be donated to us by Amazon - it doesn't get simpler than that!

No matter how you go about it or how much money you raise, we are so grateful for your efforts in helping us to fund cutting-edge research to ensure that autistic people can live happy and fulfilled lives. We love seeing your events, so please email [email protected] and tweet us at @AutismResearchT to share your stories!
